Today, infrared thermal imaging cameras are available to more firefighters than ever before. The benefits of the technology are many. But, are we preparing our firefighters to use the technology to its full potential? As it is with many tools in the fire service, efficient use of thermal imaging equipment comes from good training and practical experience. TRT offers both - in its Tactical Thermal Imaging courses.

Tactical Thermal Imaging is designed to improve the safety and efficiency of firefighters using thermal imaging equipment on the fire ground. Our classes focus on the use of thermal imaging cameras as a tactic to achieve strategic objectives. Firefighter safety is emphasized throughout the training experience.

This is application-oriented instruction, focusing on the integration of thermal imagers into sound fire ground strategy. In one-day workshops, or intensive two-day classes, students come away with an understanding of safe and effective use of these new tools. In the classroom, the student "sees" thermal images from cameras in use at actual fires. In practical hands-on sessions, students get to experience the "reality" of applying what they've learned.
