Memorium - Dennis Mojica The late Dennis Mojica was an original
co-founder of the organization that is now Tactical
Rescue Training. He was a lieutenant in the City of New
York Fire Department, assigned to Rescue Company 1. Lt.
Mojica was killed in the line of duty on September 11,
2001, performing rescue operations at the World Trade
Center when it collapsed.

Dennis Amodio
DENNIS AMODIO retired as a firefighter with the City of
New York Fire Department, assigned to FDNY Rescue 1. He
has extensive experience with all aspects of truck work,
collapse rescue operations and high rise operations. He
holds a Certificate of Fitness for Sprinkler and Standpipe
Systems in NYC and is a certified NAUI Rescue Diver. He
worked at incidents such as the 1993 World Trade Center
bombing, and most recently at the September 11th 2001 World
Trade Center operations. He has shared his expertise in
truck tactics, team search, heavy rescue, collapse techniques
and vehicle extrication with fire fighters across the country
and internationally.

Michael Dugan MICHAEL DUGAN is a 17-year veteran of the
New York City Fire Department, serving as the captain of
Ladder Company 123 in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. As a
lieutenant, he served in Ladder Company 42 in the South
Bronx. While assigned as a firefighter in Ladder Company
43, he received the James Gordon Bennett medal in 1992
and the Harry M. Archer Medal in 1993 - the FDNY's
highest award for bravery. He is a former volunteer
firefighter in the Halesite FD. He is also a "HOT"
instructor at FDIC and Firehouse
Expo. He is a contributing editor to Firehouse
magazine.

Leigh Hollins
LEIGH T. HOLLINS began his fire service career in New Jersey
in 1976 before relocating to Florida in 1977, where he advanced
through the ranks to his present assignment as Battalion
Chief at Cedar Hammock Fire Rescue in Manatee County, Florida.
Leigh is a veteran instructor at FDIC and FDIC West, a contributor
to Fire Engineering Magazine's "Roundtable" feature
and a member of the magazine's editorial advisory board.
He is also the host/producer of Fire Engineering's video
- "School Bus Extrication."

John Kiernan JOHN KIERNAN retired as a lieutenant with the
City of New York Fire Department. Assigned to FDNY Rescue 1, he was
involved in some of the most complex rescue operations in
NYC. He has served as a FEMA USAR team member and is a certified
NAUI SCUBA instructor. He also holds instructor certifications
in Confined Space Awareness and Safety, Rescue Operations
II, High-Angle Rope Rescue, Trench Rescue and other technical
rescue specialties.

John Newell
JOHN NEWELL is a 21 year veteran of the
City of New York Fire Department, currently serving as a battalion chief
in the Bronx/Harlem area. His years of service as an
engine officer have developed his expertise in engine
operations. He has instructed at the FDNY Academy and is
a fireground instructor with the Suffolk County N.Y. Fire
Academy. He has also served for over 30 years at the Halesite
N.Y. Volunteer Fire Department. He is a veteran instructor
of the FDIC and Firehouse Expo.

Michael Nugent MICHAEL NUGENT has been a member of Broward
County Fire Rescue since 1982, serving as Coordinator of
Technical Rescue Operations since 1991. As a Rescue Team
Manager of FEMA USAR Florida T.F. 2, he has been deployed
on various FEMA operations including a two-week
assignment at the World Trade Center site in September
2001. His extensive experience includes teaching: rope
rescue, collapse rescue, trench rescue, emergency shoring,
tower crane rescue, as well as other technical rescue
subjects - both nationally and internationally.

John Weisheit
JOHN WEISHEIT is a 20 year veteran of the City of New York
Fire Department. He has served as a firefighter and a lieutenant
in Rescue Company 4 and is currently assigned
to Rescue Company 1. He served 10 years in Special Operations
Command and has overseen FDNY's Technical Rescue
School. Weisheit has taught high angle. confined space,
collapse, trench, rigging, and Rescue Technician classes
for FDNY. He is a certified rescue diver, New York State
auto extrication instructor, I.A.F.F. hazmat instructor,
and member of New York Task Force 1.
